Northern Markets and Pygmies – Cameroon

From the arid savannahs of the sahel to the majestic peaks of the Mandara Mountains and lush primeval forest, ‘’Africa in miniature’’ lives up to its promise of landscape and geographical variety. But the real treasures of this generous land are the more than 250 ethnic groups that populate it.
Like the hide, with characteristic calebasse headdresses and the Ba’aka pygmies, in symbiosis with nature. Or the koma, custodians of ancient traditions and animist rituals, and the Musgum, with their mud howitzer house.
Itinerary
Day 1 : Yaounde
Arrive at Yaounde Nsimalen International airport, welcome by guide, transfer to hotel for diner and night.
Day 2 : Yaounde - Garoua – Maroua
Transfer to the extreme north by flight, arrive transfer at hotel for diner and night
Day 3 : Maroua – Pouss – Maroua
The Pouss market on the border with Chad, where you will meet the Peulh Bororo, and the howitzer houses of the Musgum.
Day 4 : Maroua – Oudjilla – Koza – Mokolo
The labyrinth of the Oudjilla chefferie and the pointed granaries of Koza
Day 5 : Mokolo – Tourou – Rhumsiki
The market of tourou, where the Hide women wear calebasse as headdresses.
Day 6 : Rhumsiki – Kola – Garoua
The magical peaks of Rhumsiki, on the border with Nigeria.
Day 7 : Garoua – Poli – Koma village
The wekly market in Poli and the remote villages in the Atlantika Mountains
Day 8 : Koma villages – Gode – Poli
